Some schools are now requiring students to return signed permission slips in order to hear a presidential speech during class. Some parents are outraged at the idea of their children being ‘subjected’ to president Obama’s speech; incidentally it’s a speech aimed at children with the message of giving your best effort, not giving up and hope. Regardless of how one feels about the president politically, who would really forbid their child from hearing such a speech? Moreover why would a school feel obligated to require a signed permission slip to hear such a speech? The latter may actually have more to do with the litigious nature of our country. In any event, sad commentary on a very polarized nation.
Time to end a few controversies real fast: 1) Mosque near ground zero? It’s allowed under the United States constitution and approved by New York City, issue over. 2) Can a book burning that features a religious work such as the Koran take place? Yes, as it is constitutionally protected speech, issue over. Far too much debate over matters that were easily resolved nearly 235 years ago. Simply because someone is opposed to something, doesn’t make it illegal, nor should it.
Tea Party candidates winning primaries in several states. The momentum for the GOP seems to be picking up with less than two months until the mid-term elections.
Oprah plans to take a bunch of her fans to Australia with her for a tapings of a series of shows. Isn’t she just the most wonderful human being ever conceived of in the boundaries of this or any other universe?
Worst nightmare: A woman falls asleep with a migraine and wakes up French?
The search for the worst song in history may be over. A song climbing up the charts has found it’s way onto my radar–thanks to a listener submission–and is truly horrific.

Americans kidnapped by Iranians who allegedly “invaded” their country. The citizens were hiking in the Iraq near the Iranian border when they were captured… who the Hell goes for a hike in Iraq?

This is really inetiestrng stuff, i’m looking forward to see how it turns out.I won’t be there in person as i live in the U.K. but hopefully someone will upload it to You Tube if everyone was ok with that.I can think of a lot of his other songs that i would also like to see one based on, specifically songs from his Oliver Hart album, like On A Clear Day and How Eye Won The Write Too Think .
