Threatening the President Via Social Media Guarantees At Least One Friend Follows You

Christopher Castillo is the latest to learn a valuable lesson; don’t ever post political rants while angry. Following a November 1st facebook message in which Castillo said, “if he gets re-elected I’m going to hunt him down and kill him watch the life disappear from his eyes.” The Secret Service investigated and eventually arrested the Melbourne, Florida man. Despite a warning from one of his friends that reminded the 28 year old Castillo that threatening the President was a crime he continued to make threatening remarks.
You probably know where this is going but when the Secret Service agent questioned Castillo about his remarks he remained belligerent. When asked what he would do if President Obama were standing in front of him right now Castillo quipped, “bitch slap and beat the shit out of him”. Christopher Castillo was arrested and is being detained until such time that he can be equipped with GPS tracking unit. A trial and considerable jail time are in his future as well.
Good News/Bad News regarding the economy
In the previous fiscal year (ending September 30, 2012), the United States saw a 6% increase in tax revenue over the previous year. Total funds taken in via tax revenue was around $2.45 trillion, unfortunately the bad news is that the nation spent more than $3.5 trillion during that same period.
Impacts of superstorm Sandy
Weekly Jobless claims increased to 439,000 according to the Department of Labor. It is widely believed that this increase is a direct result of the devastating impacts of superstorm Sandy on the northeast U.S. Many businesses were (and a few still remain) without power and some buildings were severely damaged or destroyed. Citizens may file for benefits if their business was unable to operate for more than a week. These impacts are expected to continue for at least the rest of November, therefore unemployment statistics are likely to take a hit for the month.
Paula Broadwell May Face Criminal Charges
The mistress of former CIA director David Petraeus may find herself facing criminal charges for possession of classified government documents. The former military officer and biographer recently gained national attention when it was revealed that Petraeus was resigning his post at the CIA due to his extramarital affair with her.
FBI agents were combing through Broadwell’s North Carolina home on Thursday morning and retrieved numerous items including a computer and what appeared to be various—likely sensitive—documents. Witnesses say that the agents spent several hours bringing countless items from the home. While no charges have been filed as of yet, it seems to be an inevitability given the highly sensitive nature of the information Broadwell had access to, including information regarding Benghazi.
Israel/Hamas Clash in Gaza
Following a drone attack that killed Hamas military leader Ahmad Al-Jabari along with his bodyguard and son, the Palestinian forces in Gaza responded with a barrage of rocket attacks. More than 250 rockets in all were fired into Israeli territory including a few that made it as far as Tel Aviv. Within hours, the region had plunged into a heated crossfire with rockets and military aircraft covering the skies. Israel warned that continued violence would result in the army pushing further into the enclave.
Egypt’s new Islamic government, having previously stated that they would honor the 1979 peace accord with Israel, condemned the Israeli strikes and warned that further violence could lead to regional destabilization… They actually said that with a straight face. Russia also called for an end to the violence and a meeting was planned among the Arab league on Saturday to discuss the crisis.
As of late Thursday, the White House had no official comment on the matter.

Mind easing up on the south bashing? It’s pretty hypocritical when you (rightly) bash others for being racists and bigots, and then go on to label an entire section of the country as uneducated rednecks. I know you don’t really mean it that way, but that’s the way it comes out.
