Rolling Stone just released a list of the 25 best ABBA songs, not sure how a group with a few hits in the mid-late 70s is capable of earning a top 25 list, but that’s another topic entirely. The question I think many of us are left wondering is, “why?”
Megaphone Replacing Dog Whistle for Laura Ingraham.
Fox News commentator Laura Ingraham is used to upsetting liberals and Democrats with her conservative rhetoric. Last week, however, Ingraham managed to be an equal opportunity offender when she made remarks that are hard to label as anythng other than overtly racist. Even moderates and conservatives had difficulty understand Ingraham’s thought process when she negatively equated changing demographics with both legal and illigal immigration.
This left most viewers of the Ingraham Angle to ask some serious questions, such as: Other than nationality and race, what demographics change with an influx of legal immigrants? What’s wrong with legal immigration?
Ingraham also referenced changes that “no one voted for” and that most people don’t like, to what does this refer? What changes are happening that people haven’t had an opportunity to vote for?
The remarks were both confusing and troubling to say the least, but what made them a bit worse was Ingraham’s defense of her comments the next evening. She tried to label some nameless white nationists and say that she doesn’t represent that view and finds racism disgusting, but refused to even walk back or justify her remarks, instead she seemingly doubled down on them.
The only stereotype that seems to be true here is the one about Laura Ingraham being a bigot and likely a full-blown elitist/racist.
