Believe it or not, the Iranians have a space program. Tehran announced that they had successfully sent a monkey into space and returned it safely to Earth. Of course, the word “safe” is relative when talking about the Iranians, nevertheless we congratulate them on their bold endeavor into the middle 20th century.
Slightly More Serious News
North Korea appears to be testing a long range missile with the potential of reaching as far away as the U.S. west coast. This is a continuation of North Korea’s nuclear ambitions and the members of the U.N. security council see this as a clear threat to the safety of the world. Has the North gone a bit too far? China has expressed concerns with regard to their arms race… question answered.
This news comes on the heels of reports that food shortages in the nation have reached critical levels. Media outlets have even reported cannibalism is occurring in the more remote sections of country.
