Strong thunderstorms hammered the valley throughout the week. Heavy rain, flash flooding, small hail and lightning are a relatively common occurrence during monsoon storms in the Phoenix area this time of year.
On Monday, a microburst was to blame for partially collapsing the roof, and subsequently breaking/igniting a gas line, at a Safeway on 35th Avenue and Northern. The three-alarm blaze took firefighters a couple of hours to extinguish and investigate. The store was completely destroyed, but remarkably, no one was injured.

Just kidding, you can do it with none of the above so long as you win the lottery… the DNA lottery that is. You’re really not going to like the person that’s about to become America’s Next Billionaire. Hint, she’s 20-years old, attractive and has done absolutely nothing to earn it.
