The state of Michigan is the latest to approve “right to work” legislation. Meanwhile the state capitol was overwhelmed by union protestors who claim that such legislation will cripple organized labor. Dougless Geiss, a representative in the state house, says “there will be blood” as a result of Michigan joining 24 other states in becoming “right to work”. Apparently representative Geiss was correct as protests became violent on Tuesday afternoon.

– Creep-o-meter high: Utah teacher suspended after “inappropriate contact” with students. While the investigation revealed no “criminal” activity, students reported that the 53 year-old third grade teacher would have students rub his feet and back.
– Jamie Foxx hosts Saturday Night Live and reveals the best part of his new movie Django is that he gets to “kill white people”.
– Korean sensation Psy is facing the music after anti-American sentiments are discovered within songs/writings he performed many years ago. I’m not sure why there is any controversy here, within a year no one will even know who Psy is/was.
– The EU says it’s “unfair” that Google is moving billions of dollars into offshore accounts to avoid various nation’s taxes.
– Democrats PR Machine working overtime: 53% of Americans will blame Republicans if the nation is thrown over the ‘fiscal cliff’.
– Mel Greg and Michael Christian are two Australian radio personalities that find themselves out of a job after a phone prank gone wrong. The duo called the hospital in which Kate Middleton was staying andapparently got through to Kate’s room where they spoke to a nurse. Ultimately, the public scrutiny toward one of the nurses that initially answered the call was so great that she committed suicide. While it is certainly a stretch to link these two radio jocks to the suicide, it is much more easily concluded that they were involved in simply awful radio.
It’s been awhile since the curtain was pulled back on the radio business to reveal it’s pathetic interior, but in this episode you’ll hear plenty of Mel and Michael from Australia as well as a featured U.S. personality whom is equally repulsive. Perhaps we’ll start doing this bit regularly once again whereby we expose some of the bad radio across the country.

Mike, I’m from Melbourne Australia and I don’t know who those two shifty radio presenters are. They make me cringe, that’s for sure.
Nonetheless, this dumb bitch that killed herself has no remorse from me. She was beyond retarded, I can’t even comprehend how she became a nurse. In the defence of these two turd stain radio DJ’s, I don’t think anyone can blame them. They’re a terrible (beyond stupid and unartistic) but in the end, if you were dumb enough to fall for that less than impressive charade you deserve to be shamed. The fact the British chick committed suicide is on her own hands. Don’t anyone dare accuse the two DJ’s or give them grief, they have done nothing but pathetic radio mischief.

I am also drunk posting this from a phone on a train so please don’t grammar Nazi me haha.
Yes. I listen to MGS drunk and on the way into the city to meet up with some mates. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Georgia’s a right-to-work state, but having parents who own their own business, I know that while you can fire someone for any reason, you need a documented breech of their contracts to avoid various severance and unemployment payments.
I don’t think right-to-work laws are a bad thing, neutral at worst. The median pay is lower but unemployment is also lower. Standard economics, less pay means more jobs. And as is usually is the case, most people would rather have a lower paying job than no job at all.
My problem with unions is that they pretend to be protectors of the workers when in fact they’re businesses. They charge a premium for their “services” (sarcasm quotes because they often do more harm than good), and the dues often outweigh the salary increases.
@oliver: Pretty sure Mike doesn’t care about grammar, and that he’s happy to have people listening, drunk or not. I don’t pretend to speak for him though.

Haha Oliver, I’m in Melbourne too! Drunk is the only way to travel on public transport here.
As for the DJs/nurse – I hate that kind of shock jock prank call crap, I don’t think the DJs deserve to be blamed for her suicide but it’s an eye opener for how insidious mental health problems are, and how little it can take to tip someone over the edge. I wonder what kind of shit she got into with the hospital though. That’s a very exclusive hospital, I reckon she would have taken some heat. Just a very unfortunate situation.

This discussion of the S.N.L monologue, it highlights why I stopped watching S.N.L years ago. That show stopped being relevant or funny for that matter a long time ago. I approve of the attempts to remove the stranglehold the unions place on the private and public sector, I don’t want them abolished but they have too much power and influence, it has made them greedy. Greed encourages laziness.
Keep on doing your thing mike, I’ve been listening to your show since 2003. :)

Michigan is now a right to work state. Okay. Arizona comes to mind and don’t even get me started.
However getting to Unions, my dad was a UAW Union member for he worked for GM for over 30 years and if it wasn’t for the union standing up for the employees many of times and made sure when the factory was on downtime to change out to make a new car it keep our bills paid and food on the table. Unions are only as good as those on the board who listen to the employees. They protect jobs, insurance, wages, etc etc.
The 53 year old third grade teacher is disgusting. The school should have fired him. I can’t believe they didn’t find that wrong for 8 year olds.
Jamie Foxx. I haven’t seen that movie Django. I couldn’t stop laughing at you doing his monolog. Hehe I think Jamie Foxx filmed a movie here in Arizona in the Phoenix, Mesa and Tempe areas. Also, I’ve not watched SNL since Chris Farley, Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler where on it. Much rather watch reruns of In Living Color or Mad TV. Oi
Django opening weekend $30,122,888 and grossed $162,804,648 FYI ;)
Psy…Gangnam Style was okay. He does a song with Snoop Dogg now.
The Aussie DJ’s shouldn’t have lost their jobs due to a nurse committing suicide. Yes that prank phone call shouldn’t have happened. But there should have been better control of incoming calls for a royal family member and that no nurse should have giving any information over the phone without a password or something in place for protection of privacy. I felt their accents were bloody horrible.
I’ve never laughed so hard (so far) with your podcast. Twas very funny and entertaining. There was however a few sad parts of the two females committing suicides. Makes me sad to think that a person can’t get the help they need or feel that there isn’t anything more they can do so they kill themselves. Very Sad.
Thanks Mike <3 ;)
