The national debt tops $13 trillion. Which translates to every man, woman and child in the U.S. owing around $43,000.

BP plans a new strategy to combat the oil spewing into the Gulf. It’s fairly remarkable that BP finally acknowledges there is an oil spill. The method they plan to use is “top kill”, whereby excessive amounts of mud are pumped into the top of the well and thus stop the oil from leaking. Laws of physics tell us that this might not be such a good idea. Surprise! Lawsuits have already been filed.

Forbidden milkshake… a tasty treat that’s only 2,010 calories and 68 grams of saturated fat. Mmmm fattening. Hurry up and get it while the government still allows you to do so.

The NFL has awarded the 2014 Superbowl to New York City. With an outdoor stadium and given that the game is played in the first week of February I wonder what could possibly go wrong here? Then again, why should I care, I’ll be relaxing comfortably on my couch watching the game… so play it in the arctic circle for all I care!

A firestorm of controversy continues in New York as the city has approved construction of a Mosque (and community center) just a couple of blocks from ‘Ground Zero’> Protesters and counter-protesters alike lined the streets and tensions continue to flare.

The pop chart is always the source of entertainment and enlightenment. Also, the most expensive iPhone cases… Apple fanboys will really shell out the bucks for anything won’t they?
