What better way to celebrate America’s independence than with a hot dog eating contest. The annual Coney Island Nathan’s Hot Dog contest gained prominence over the past decade as eating legend Takeru Kobayashi dazzled spectators with his record setting performances. In recent years, however, Kobayashi was dethroned by Joey Chestnut. Apparently Kobayashi didn’t take well to losing and disrupted this year’s contest to the point where he was subsequently arrested.
Where will Lebron James land? One thing seems likely, Cleveland may want to get construction crews set to take down that enormous statue of the soon-to-be-former Cavalier.
Now that the U.S. has been eliminated from World Cup play, the TV ratings have gone down… I guess America doesn’t really care about soccer that much after all. So much for that once-every-four-year diatribe that sports writers/talk show hosts and soccer fan-boys go on saying that “this could be the time where soccer takes off in the U.S.”
President Obama gave a speech last week regarding illegal immigration. While many were expected solutions and a plan of action for the future, about the only specifics we heard regarding the issue itself revolved around the words “comprehensive immigration reform”. Ambiguity and anecdotes would follow in the nearly hour long speech.
Blizzard Entertainment has become a target for privacy advocates following the gaming giant’s introduction of a new identification system. Blizzard’s “realID” authentication process may allow it’s millions of subscribers’ personal information to be revealed–including their real first and last names. Tens of thousands of gamers flooded Blizzard’s World of Warcraft message boards to weigh in on the implementation of this system–and an overwhelming majority of responses were quite unfavorable.
NASA’s primary mission… you thought it was space exploration, apparently it’s making Muslins feel better.
